Unhinged brings you an alternative night of acoustic wonderment, a night of women with lungs, and something to say, at this intimate pre-pride warm-up gig. There will be three up-coming artists showcasing, all female-fronted, and all, at times, displaying something a little quirky and beyond the normal. This is not a night of your average girl folk singers, this is something a little special, and even a little odd.
The Bees Niece - Manchester/Norway
The Bees Niece sound does have a childlike naivety, but a closer listen reveals an attractive humour that gives them a charming freshness. Ragnhilds voice is beautifully tender, while the backing of Hayleys often off-kilter responses makes for something brilliantly unique. For those willing to contemplate songs about cats and snow and love, there are treats in store... Chris Long
Norwegian born Ragnhild Zeigler fronts this delightful group. Though many of the instruments are quite traditional, there is also a place for saw-playing and wine glasses, which is only the start of their quirkiness. The music is acoustic but edges into the experimental. Ragnhilds lyrics are perhaps the most striking part of the songs, often cute little stories, and sometimes almost like a diary or a conversation.
They have been described as sweet and creepy, but warm and direct. The narrative style might seem a bit naïve and childlike at first, but the songs usually have some kind of dark side and disturbing undertone. Perfect for a night at Unhinged!

GeEkgiRL are Fia, Ted and Joel. They own their own record label, and play to growing crowds all over the Uk. This year they graced the main stage at Londons Pride event in Trafalgar Square and are set to do the same again in Manchester.

Hi. Can you help?
My name's Russell and I'm a photographer in Manchester. I'm trying to contact two girls who I met on Canal Street last Halloween 2007. They asked me to take some piccies which I happily did. One of the girls was American and was in fancy dress as Audrey Hepburn (Holly Golightly) and her partner was, I think, Irish and dressed as a police officer. We all went for a drink and I gave them a card with a website address etc.
I took a few pics and some of them came out really good (if I may say so). The thing is that a rather prestigious photo competition is on the horizon and one of the pics I'd like to enter is of the two girls in question. Because it's quite a big deal - The National Portrait Gallery no less - I'd like their permission so I'm trying to contact them to sort that out. Plus, I'd like to give them copies of the photos as I think they'd quite like them.
I'm really desperate to contact them so I can go ahead etc... If you know of them or could help I'd be really grateful

Are you outgoing, single and up for a laugh? If so, then the Lesbian and Gay Foundation (LGF) would like to invite you to get involved with a brand new first-of-its-kind ‘Lesbian Auction’ to be held at Vanilla bar on Sunday 22 June.
Women of all ages, shapes and sizes are encouraged to volunteer for this fun and lighthearted event where a date with willing participants will be auctioned off to raise money for the Lesbian and Gay Foundation.
Choices for the date include a restaurant meal for two, bowling, cinema tickets and many other pre-arranged options, all organised by LGF.
